Minutes of General membership meeting dated February 11, 2008.

I. Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Co-Vice President Pat Strickling.

In attendance: Renate De Koster, Anneke DiSpigno, Kathy Dooley, Monique Kogan, Andy Mark, Geof Morgan, Lori Morrow, Melanie Ottley, Colleena Pepeon, Kathy Ramsay, Anita Rasset and Pat Strickling.
Melanie Ottley motioned to accept minutes from January meeting. Monique Kogan 2nd the motion and all were in favor.

II. Treasurer’s Report
Opening Balance was $17,202.65
Income of 376.00
Expenses of 1,490.75
Ending Balance $16,087.90

III. Unfinished Business:

a. Parents Advisory Committee: Topics included the Highly Capable Learners Program and selection process. Reviewed “electives” available for middle school and high schools. Revision and review of all school policies to be implemented by school district. *Kulshan Middle School to host Finance & Assessments open meeting February 21st. Thank you Monique Kogan for reporting.

b. Shuksan all school BBQ scheduled May 29th.

c. Box top Collection deadline end of February.

d. WASL volunteers needed. Training will be offered. Please contact Sam Pryor Registrar: lpryor@bham.wednet.edu.

e. 2008 Greater Bellingham Challenge Run scheduled for Saturday, June 7th at Whatcom Falls Park. Volunteers are needed. Please contact Melanie Ottley: melottley@gmail.com.

IV. New Business:

a. Representatives from Whatcom Family & Community Network sponsoring Community Fun Night Wednesday February 27th at Shuksan Middle School 6:00P.M. To 8:30 P.M. Geof Morgan is the Executive Director accompanied by Kathy Ramsay Area Administrator for CPS and Western Washington University student, Colleena Pepeon. “Family to Family” is an initiative to build local community safe places and support systems for neighborhoods. b. Nominating Committee for next school year includes Lori Morrow, Dana Lindquist and Pat Strickling. Volunteers are still needed. Contact Lori Morrow at tlmorrow@comcast.net or Pat Strickling at stricks1@comcast.net.

c. Snack Box is now available to teachers and staff in the main office. Thank you Anneke DiSpigno and Kathy Dooley for putting together.
