General Membership Meeting Minutes – November 19, 2008

Call to Order 7:00pm by Pat Strickling, Co-president
In Attendance: Theresa Neumann, Lynn Bennett, Lori Morrow, Dana Lindquist, Eunice Tomberlin, Sheryl Munroe, Anita Rasset, Heather Whalen, Anneke DiSpigno, Diane Bateman, Cindy Segren.

Approval of Minutes Minutes from 10/15/08 general membership meeting distributed; motion to approve Oct 15th Mtg Minutes by Dana Lindquist

Treasurer’s report Lori Morrow reported in Julia’s absence. Lori motioned to add a Special Education line item to the budget; approved.

Principal’s report Andy Mark not in attendance.

Committees
Turkey Trot Thanks to Pat Strickling and the weather it was a success. Need more hot cocoa next year; made 5 canisters this year.

December Staff Appreciation Lori Morrow will chair, Anneke and Heather will oversee that day.

Audit Committee Anita Rasset will coordinate with Christy Russell, Julia Parker, and Jodie

Parent Advisory Committee Dana Lindquist shared enthusiasm regarding our new curriculum director for the Bellingham School District. He is a math teacher from Coeur D’Alene, Idaho who is very enthusiastic.

Directories Heather Whalen will get disk from district to start.

Old Business
Read Naturally Lori Morrow reported PTSA Board voted down monies for the read naturally program, although the money for this program has since been found elsewhere.

New Business
ASB Winter Wonder Week Lori Morrow summarized

Safe Routes to School Lori Morrow noted the grant and Shuksan’s need for participation. Grant covers traffic safety, bicycle helmets etc.. Need chair.

Next meeting either in December or January; will send out notice.
