Minutes of General Membership Meeting dated October 8, 2007. Meeting called to order at 7:04 P.M. by Co-Vice President Pat Strickling.

 

In attendance:  Anneke DiSpigno, Rachel Ilahi, Valerie Lyon-Parker, Sheryl Munroe, Lori Morrow, Melanie Ottley, Kelly Pederson, Teresa Stephens and Pat Strickling.

I Reading of the minutes: Teresa Lincoln moved to accept the minutes. Lori Morrow 2nd the motion. All were in favor.

II Treasurer's Report

Opening Balance was $ 11,201,21
Income of 21, 551.98
Expenses of 1,334.32
Ending Balance $ 31,418.87

III Unfinished Business

a. Superintendent's Parent Advisory Committee: Co-chaired by Valerie Lyon-Parker and Monique Kogan. First meeting Oct. 3rd.
• Junior and Senior from each high school chose to form student committee
• Spring levy for Maintenance Operations & Technology in March 08'
• Two seats currently open on school board
• Snow Days: Days will be added to current school year if less than 2 days are missed. If more than two days, make-up will have to be negotiated.
b. Cartridge Collection: Box to be located in the library. Thank you Ms. Eggert.
c. Cougar Pride Award Store: Will be located in old attendance office. Students will receive a ticket and coin for being "caught" exhibiting excellent behavior. The coin can be spent at the school store and the ticket will be entered into a larger drawing for bigger prize.
d. Movie Night Oct. 19th. Students are invited to watch "Big" starring Tom Hanks. Tickets can be purchased during student lunches or before the event. Cost is $2.00, which includes pizza and pop. Parent Volunteers are still needed. Please contact Lori Morrow at: tlmorrow@comcast.net.
e. Pizza Party will occur on Oct. 31st during lunchtime. Parents are invited and cost is $3.50. Lori Morrow motioned to provide money from Hospitality line item for purchase of ice cream. Teresa Lincoln 2nd the motion. All were in favor.
f. Shuksan's Fall Dress-up Day is October 31st. There will be a dance for honors-level students from 1:45 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Students are encouraged to dress-up but to refrain from wearing inappropriate attire; e.g . no pretend weapons or masks. Pizza party will occur during student lunches and parents are welcome to join their student. Flyers are in the office.
g. Lisa Jones who will collect a football signed by SMS football team is organizing the Chase Stroud project. Account has been set-up at ICU to benefit Chase. Pat Strickling motioned to buy a football jersey with funds from Hospitality line item and Cheryl Munroe 2nd the motion. All were in favor. Kathy Dooley volunteered to coordinate/purchase jersey.
