2009-10 SUPPLY LIST

It is important to us that all students find success at Shuksan. One of the best ways to meet with success is to be prepared. The list below is designed to provide students with tools that will help them in all their classes.

In these tough economic times we know some families will need help in gathering the necessary supplies. Many organizations donate supplies to us. If you are in a position to help you can do so by purchasing an extra set of supplies and dropping it off at our guidance office. Have a great year!

NECESSARY

•  One 2” three ring binder to be used for all classes (preferred over zipper binder)

•  Six standard-size Composition Books

•  1 pack of Ten Subject Dividers

•  2 packs of White Notebook paper—College Ruled
• *1 pack of quadrille graph paper (8th only)

•  1 Pencil Pouch

•  Ball Point Pens (Blue or Black ink)

•  1 dozen #2 Pencils

•  Large Eraser

•  Protractor (7th only)

•  Standard/Metric Ruler

•  6 Glue Sticks

•  Scotch tape

•  Scissors

•  Colored Pencils and/or Colored felt markers for map work and/or science class

•  Non-permanent black marker pen

• Calculator—Scientific (Not an expensive one)

•  Pink, yellow & green highlighter
•  Box of Tissue.
•  Gym Clothes: see below

OPTIONAL

•  One ream of 8-½” x 11” photocopy paper
• 256K or greater USB flash drive

• TI-83 or higher Graphing calculator (7th and 8th grades only)

Please note: Some teachers may ask students to bring additional items such as a shoulder rest (orchestra only), an extra 1" binder or a few more composition books for specific classes. These supplies will be made known to students after school starts.

If you are able to donate supplies for a student, please bring them to the office.

PE UNIFORM SHIRT INFORMATION

Imprinted t-shirts will be sold for $5.00 each. Please make checks payable to Shuksan Middle School ASB. The shirts will be sold the day before school, during lunches the first week of school, and as needed throughout the school year.

NOTE: Unfortunately, free or reduced lunch students to not automatically receive a free PE shirt. If you are unable to pay for a PE shirt, please let the counseling office know.

Students must bring their own PE shorts. Shorts and sweats must be solid colored (no writing, unless they are SMS shorts or sweats - a stripe is fine). The shorts must be soccer or basketball shorts that are mid-thigh in length and must be worn at the waist. Absolutely no cut-offs, cargo pants, jeans, or shorts above mid-thigh may be worn. Students may wear sweatshirts, but it must be solid color and without writing unless they are Shuksan sweats. Thanks!
